uploaded a character with existing animation and it animation is in 2 takes C4D

Hi I have uploaded a new version of an animation that was originally created in Mixamo (the client wanted changes that I couldn't do in Mixamo). I editied in C4D, I then uploaded it to Mixamo and added a new dance to it. The issue I have is that now I download and import to Cinema 4D it has 2 animation takes, I can either import the original animation or the new mixamo one. Is there a way to combine them both? I don't want to have to edit the original one again it took me ages, and I guess I would have to download and pay for the same sequences on the new model even though it's essentially the same (but slightly revised) character?

  • Evilgoldfish,

You uploaded an animation? Are you saying you uploaded a skeleton with a take on it an it's applied another take but you want them both separate? Or at least end to end?

C4D allows you to copy and past animations. What you should do is load the character and skeleton and remove the keys so it's just a blank skeleton.

Then import the character with animation and select the first take. Copy and paste the keys from that take to the empty skeleton. Delete the skeleton you copied the animation from and reimport selecting the second take. Copy the keys and past them again onto the new skeleton after the previous set of animations.

This will give you both animations on one character at the same time.

(I have trouble understanding this question because you cannot upload animations to mixamo but you said you did. You also say it's a new slightly revised model. So did you just upload a different model? I've very confused.)

Hi there, OK I'll give it a go! Couldn't seem to copy and paste in Cinema 4D! Yeah I uploaded a character with an existing animation. When I downloaded it and imported it into C4d it retained the animation frames but had them as 2 takes (the one I uploaded to Mixamo which was a revised version of an animation I had previously bought on Mixamo) and the new one.

  • This tutorial gives brief overview of what I mean about copy and pasting the animation: http://www.mixamo.com/c/help/workflow...

If your not sure how to do that try looking into some tutorials or help guides for C4D.
