how to straighten character's posture?
For many animations, the stock mixamo characters don't have perfectly straight posture--the knees are slightly bent. And when I apply animations to my character, it's even worse--the knees are bent to a very unnatural degree. The sliders don't seem to affect this--is there any way to give my characters better postures?

Dear Gecko,
The problem you are experiencing is due to not perfect t-pose of your character. In fact, if your uploaded character has flexed knees, that flexion angle will be added to the retargeted animation resulting on a more "bent knee" type of posture.
You can fix this by re-uploading your character and making sure the legs are straight into a perfect t-pose, as described here:

I hope this helps!
Thanks.
Stefano
PS: most of our animations purposely avoid having perfectly straight knees because that can generate locking or popping of the knee motion due to pose instability. -

Zante, good suggestion, one that we are actually considering! Stay tuned, this is something that we will look into in the next couple months.

I wrote the first query on this above. So now I'm using Mixamo Pro Characters for a project--and they are just as bad! See attached. I can understand not wanting the knees to lock, but this looks pretty extreme and uncomfortable.
I guess you decided not to add an option on this, since it was six months ago that you were considering it?

Dear Gecko and dear Zante,
The bent knees posture is in this case related to the specific motion.
We are rolling out new motions tomorrow among which there will be a version of this with more straight knees. Hang on! ;-)
For the general models, we perform an automatic t-posing (which can also be disabled) in which we make sure arms, chest and legs are close to a t-pose. For the knee bending this is something that modelers do on purpose to give for example a scary look to an orc model or so. In that case we decided to not correct the original pose to preserve the look. In this specific case with Evolver characters though the legs should be all straight, you can check on a different motion.
i hope this helps!
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Are those new motions out yet--I'm not seeing them. Is there a way to see only the new releases?

A new talking animation with straighter knees is live together with another 16 brand new. If you search for 847 you will find it.
I hope this works well for your project.
Thanks!
