Animation clips should have animation name, not "mixamo.com"
I just purchased my first Mixamo animation, and it works great with my character model in Unity....except that the name of the animation clip itself (inside the animation file) is "mixamo.com." I hope to have a couple dozen mixamo animations in this project, and it's not going to be very helpful if they're all named "mixamo.com" It really should match the name of the animation, not the service provider, right? And, unfortunately, I can't rename it in Unity.

Dear Gecko,
The best solution is to download the motions in "FBX for Unity" format available in the download panel. That way your FBX files will follow the naming convention character@motion.FBX and the takes once imported in Unity will be automatically renamed to "motion". This was a feature introduced just for Unity developers like you who have to deal with a lot of animations ;-)
Thanks.
Stefano
PS: To rename an imported motion (animation clip) in Unity you will need first to duplicate it so that it is not linked to the original FBX anymore. -

Finally getting back to this; it mostly works, but I am having inconsistent results. Some of the Mixamo animations I download as FBX for Unity work fine, while others don't work (they just won't play, like there's no valid animation data in the file). The internal elements of these two, those that work and those that don't, are different, see the attached image. The top one (with femalebasic and Null inside) does not work, while the bottom one (with Controls and Joints) does work--but I downloaded them both as Skeleton, FBX For Unity format. How do I get them to always work?
thanks
Dave

Dear David,
We tested it with your last uploaded female character and everything works fine. The donwloaded files are consistent and the hierarchy is the same in all of them (including FBX and FBX for Unity format).
In your snapshot it looks like you are showing the hierarchy of two different characters (Female2 and Female). Can you check that?
If you still have problems feel free to email directly support@ and we will take care of it directly. Thanks!

Hi Stefano,
I understand that current users cannot upload animations to Mixamo for use in the editor. I was wondering if you'd have any suggestions on a workaround on a challenge I am currently facing:
In a 3rd party program (DAZ3D), I have my character in a still pose as a start frame (for a sequence) and have a second pose for the end frame without a title like "run, walk, dance" etc as a title. If I wanted to search the Mixamo motion database for any mocaps that fall within those two frames, is there a way of doing so? If not, could this be something Mixamo would consider for the next upgrade of the system?
Please let me know.
Thanks!
